You can usually un-install (remove) something, if it does not install well, or is not what you want, and that includes removing a PPA. Linux Mint will usually tell you if there is a conflict, or if installing something is going to remove a lot of other stuff you may not want removed so watch the screen. But as with any software you install, it is up to you to monitor, or research, whether it is what you want, or whether it will conflict with some other software in your system.
